Cinematic Storytelling
Hi! I’m Jonty, founder of Tolley Films. Based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, I specialise in creating cinematic video content for weddings, events, and special occasions all over the U.K. With over a decade of experience in the television industry working on programmes such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, I bring a unique blend of expertise and creativity to every project, ensuring your most cherished moments are preserved with cinematic flair and authenticity.
My passion for photography and videography began in high school and has driven my career ever since. After studying Media Studies and A-Level Photography, I earned a BA (Hons) in Media & Photography from Leeds University, which set the foundation for my journey.
During my time in Leeds, I immersed myself in the city’s vibrant nightclub scene, with my photography featured in Mixmag and DJ Mag. I also spent summers in Ibiza, capturing the energy of clubbers at some of the island’s biggest events. Alongside my studies, I began filming weddings, as a wedding videographer. honing my ability to tell authentic stories and preserve life’s most special moments.
My career took a major leap forward when I gained work experience at Emmerdale as a camera assistant. This opened the door to a 12-year career at Hollyoaks, where I became a staff camera operator. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the industry’s top directors and operators, each with their own distinct style, which has deeply influenced my own approach. Most recently, I served as the lead camera operator during Hollyoaks’ stunt week, where I was part of thrilling sequences, including a motorbike chase and car explosions.
Outside of work, I’m a proud husband and father. My loving wife, our 3-year-old daughter, and our pug Rex take up all my spare time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Jonty captured the most beautiful moments, in a respectful and none-invasive way. He kept in the background, but captured the most intimate and incredible shots. I genuinely couldn't have asked for more from him and will be forever grateful he was a part of our special day.
