Cinematic Videographer In Cheshire
Hi! I’m Jonty, founder of Tolley Films. Based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, I specialise in creating cinematic video content for events, weddings, and special occasions across the U.K. and beyond.
My background includes over a decade in the television industry, where I worked on iconic shows like Emmerdale and Coronation Street before becoming a full-time staff camera operator on Channel 4's Hollyoaks. As a fully Steadicam trained operator, I even had the thrill of being the lead camera during Hollyoaks’ famous stunt week. Operating a Steadicam from the back of a moving quad bike, I captured everything from heart-pounding motorbike chases to massive car explosions with perfectly smooth, cinematic precision.
I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some of the best directors in the business. This has given me invaluable experience in storytelling, creativity, and attention to detail, which are skills that I bring to every single project I take on.
Where it all began...
My passion for photography and videography started back in high school and has driven my career ever since. After studying Media Studies and A-Level Photography, I earned a BA (Hons) in Media & Photography from Leeds University, where I began to refine my craft.
During my university years, I immersed myself in Leeds’ buzzing nightclub scene, shooting photos that were featured in Mixmag and DJ Mag. Summers in Ibiza followed, where I captured the energy of the island’s biggest events. At the same time, I started filming weddings, honing my ability to tell heartfelt, authentic stories—a skill that remains at the core of my work today.
Life outside the sense
Outside of work, I’m a proud husband and dad. My amazing wife, our adventurous 4 -year-old daughter, and our lovable pug, Rex, keep life busy, oh and my new love for Padel, since filming a lot of it, I am now literally hooked!
